Organizations today

Organizations today are in a schizophrenic situation. They need individual talents to blossom while they confine them in unmerciful stressful competitiveness for the sake of survival. They want to create wealth but are confined in a global predator model for hunting the scarce money. They value free abundant open source knowledge but need to make it scarce, through proprietarization (licensing, patenting, intellectual property...), in order to keep market competitiveness. They are trapped into pyramidal collective intelligence. Pyramidal collective intelligence has proven to be very efficient and accurate in the past. Mainstream thinking in the pyramidal collective intelligence paradigm still claims that wisdom and efficiency are two separate irreconcilable things. But more and more individuals and leaders today realize that elevated consciousness and wisdom is not just a good thing from the moral standpoint of view. Wisdom and elevated consciousness are the necessary shift to embrace today's challenges, increase competitiveness, and create sustainability.

Today the cutting-edge work for wisdom driven people is to build global wisdom driven organizations.

  • How can this individual shift can be brought into organizations?
  • Can current limbic brain based organizations evolve towards global wisdom driven organizations, or do they have to die to leave the space for next social species?
  • What should individuals do once they become aware of humankind needs and the evolution of social species?

Questions for leaders

What should today's leaders do? At TheTransitioner.org we have met many global leaders. Most of them carry the dream of a sustainable humanity and a fair society that they want to embody and serve through their own organization, be it a company, a government, an administration, etc. Because their current organization is structured on pyramidal collective intelligence, they realize that no matter what, there is a limit that these organization cannot cross. The problem is: today conventional organizations are asked to do things and behave in a way they are not able to, because of their intrinsic and systemic limitations. Indeed they can be improved, but there are things they simply can't do.

Today's leaders are then facing a personal question that has a profound impact on their organization. Should they keep improving the old boat (and there are always possible improvements), or should they leave the old boad and embark as pioneers on the next vessels that will reach and populate the next continents? No matter their final decision, understanding what is possible in a conventional organization, and what is not possible, is a crucial step that has profound strategic impacts.

Sociological evolution

An interesting fact to notice and remember: the society and its organizations are more and more composed of cultural creatives (Paul Ray) who aim to reconcile their being and their doing, who want to work for projects that are spiritually meaningful, sustainable, local and global, that express the Good, the True, the Beautiful, that serve evolution of life and consciousness. This evolution is socialogically measurable.

So... why do people keep creating the same unaware organizations?

Because no matter how evolved, well intentioned and aware the players are at the individual level, they keep using the same social tools and architectures that reproduce the same social species at the collective level. Large organizations keep trapped in the paradigm of pyramidal collective intelligence. Language, world views, memes, space configuration, monetary system, culture, values, law, behavioral patterns, time counting system, are some of these invisible architectures from which social structures emerge. Same architecture, same social outcome. Even most contemporary spiritual leaders are not aware of how deeply these architectures shape our perception and behavior at the collective level. This is particularly true about money.

Awaken individuals are dying to build organizations that can operate at the same level of consciousness they operate individually. They look for the right social architectures in which everyone can act upon his/her true nature, follow their inspiration, be surrounded by like peers. The look for global wisdom driven organizations.

The emergence of global wisdom driven organizations

Global wisdom driven organizations were just impossible a few years ago. But the arousal of cyberspace combined with social software (socialware) supported by spiritual practice allows large communities evolve in complex local and global environments without the need of centralization, territorial power, scarcity and social hierarchies. Global organizations can now be driven by collective intelligence, wisdom and consciousness.

It is time to train and support those who want to become the pioneers of Collective Intelligence, Wisdom and Consciousness (CIWC). This is the mission statement of TheTransitioner and the seminars programs.
