TheTransitioner.org (http://TheTransitioner.org) is an international, independent and not-for-profit organization that does research and development on collective intelligence, wisdom and consciousness. All research products are directly offered to the public domain. TheTransitioner.org works on new technologies and methodologies that will improve decision making capacity of humanity and its organizations. The development of a decentralized, democratic global monetary system, driven by civil society, is at the heart of TheTransitioner.org's commitments. Through seminars, conferences, publications and media events, TheTransitioner.org supports people and organizations that are pioneers in the evolution of social life.
TheTransitioner.org is to be considered as a vessel with 2 main goals:

As explained in our brief intro, we are committed to offer the world a monetary system that will include every living being in the global equation (humans, nature, Earth). We want to build the next language of wealth in whatever form it may be, and make currencies easy and accessible for everyone on this planet. We want communities, local and global, to be able to self-manage, and be able to self-reflect. This means to both be aware of their wealth and have full control of the tools that represent and regulate that wealth.
How do we do this? By the means of a global wisdom driven organization.
Our R&D work on collective intelligence, wisdom and consciousness (CIWC) has taught us that no conventional organization can achieve such a project. By 'conventional' we mean previous forms of collective intelligence, such as original collective intelligence (OCI), or pyramidal collective intelligence (PCI).
OCI doesn't need currencies because it always occurs in small communities which have direct understanding of wealth, because there is no 'money' that comes as an intermediate blurring lens to access reality.
PCI is built on the paradigm of scarce currency systems. The reason for this is that scarcity is the fundamental leveraging, generating and maintaining dynamic for human hierarchies. PCI depend on scarce currencies to catalyze and maintain the hierarchies that make them function, therefore they will not and cannot build the very thing that would result in the destruction of what maintains them.
Thus we believe that only a global wisdom driven organization can successfully design and launch the next free currency systems.
We are committed to making open money a reality. Open money is our inspiration and model. We see ourselves as a particular vessel piloted by fully committed crew, with a declared common ground, familiar with the practices of global collective intelligence, holding specific accountabilities, and absolute 24/7 dedication. This vessel lives in a larger ecosystem of other vessels as well as less structured networks and communities that all can contribute to making open money happen.
TheTransitioner.org is thus only one of the possible vessels willing to make this project a reality. There can and should be others. The more vessels, the more chances to reach the goal. TheTransitioner.org may have sometimes divergent views with the founding visionaries who foresaw and voiced open money, we take this as being normal and part of generative diversity.
Vessels and communities play together. They compose an ecosystem where everyone can find his/her right placement.
There are 2 main reasons:
Free Currencies might be a temporary name. If we find a better name, we will use it!
Suggestions?
Pioneers. They are people who decided to explore the next forms of consciousness and how it unfolds in the collective. It is an integral search at all level of the being: body, mind, spirit. It touches all possible topics: relationships, food, education, sexuality, creativity, health, ethics, politics, etc.
Names?
As the crew is in its self-assembly phase, more names may be listed here.
TheTransitioner.org is currently building the ecosystem of the extended community willing to be part of the evolution towards global collective intelligence and wisdom driven organizations. Everyone should find his place there, contributors, learners, practitioners, reserchers, pioneers, etc. We expect this whole human ecosystem to be ready by Q1 2009. Check the CIWC ecosystem, and find where you feel the best.
Meanwhile the questions below should help you sense what could be a right and joyful space for you to participate.
We call it right placement.
THANKS AND WELCOME!
